Mentioned analyzes public creator videos, product links and shop sources to show which beauty products appear repeatedly. This policy explains what data we handle.
Browsing
You can browse Mentioned without creating an account. The app requests product, creator, video and shop-link data from the Mentioned API. The API may process standard request metadata such as IP address, user agent, timestamps and error logs for security, debugging and reliability.
Accounts and sync
If you create an account, we store your email address, account identifier and optional display name. Saved products, saved creators, saved videos, wishlist/shelf choices and synced preferences are linked to your account so they can be restored across devices.
Notifications and price alerts
If you enable alerts, Mentioned stores the product or creator you asked to follow and the push token required to deliver notifications. We do not access your contacts, precise location, camera, microphone or photo library for alerts.
Purchases and Pro
Subscriptions are processed by Apple and RevenueCat. Mentioned can receive product identifiers, entitlement status and transaction status needed to unlock Pro features. We do not receive your full payment card details.
Affiliate links
Opening a shop link may share standard request data, the destination URL and a referral/sub-id with the retailer or affiliate network so a purchase can be attributed. Affiliate links do not change the evidence ranking. See our Affiliate Disclosure for details.
Public creator and product data
Creator names, channel information, thumbnails, video titles, descriptions, links, summaries and detected product mentions are derived from publicly available YouTube data and shop sources. Mentioned is not affiliated with the creators shown unless explicitly stated.
Images and source credits
Product visuals may come from official brand pages, affiliate feeds, retailer pages, Open Beauty Facts, creator-linked shops or generated placeholders. We audit and remove images that appear off-category or cannot be tied to a single product source.
Data retention & deletion
You can permanently delete your account and associated synced data from the Profile screen. Server logs and operational backups may be retained for a limited period for security and reliability.
No sale of personal data
Mentioned does not sell personal data and does not use personal data for third-party advertising. If analytics or advertising SDKs are added later, this policy and the App Store privacy answers must be updated before release.
Creator & brand requests
Creators and brands can request removal of their name, likeness, mentions or images. Email lucka@ux-beratung.de and we will review and act promptly.
